Dentures
Restore the Confidence of a Full, Natural-Looking Smile with Modern Dentures
Dentures are custom-made replacements for missing teeth that can be removed and placed back into the mouth as needed. Although it may take time to adjust, today’s dentures are designed to be more natural-looking and comfortable than ever before.
There are two main types of dentures: full and partial. Dr. Shore will help determine the right option for you depending on whether you need to replace all of your teeth or just a few. In some cases, dental implants can be combined with dentures to improve their stability, making them more secure for eating and speaking.

Types of Dentures
Conventional Full Dentures
These are placed after all remaining teeth have been removed and the tissues have healed. Because healing can take several months, you may be without teeth during the period before the denture is fitted.
Immediate Full Dentures
Immediate dentures are placed right after the remaining teeth are removed. Dr. Shore will take measurements and models of your mouth in advance. While this option allows you to avoid being without teeth, adjustments are usually needed as your jawbone and tissues heal and reshape.
Partial Dentures
Partial dentures replace several missing teeth and are supported by a metal or plastic framework that attaches to your natural teeth. In some cases, crowns are used as anchors. They are a removable alternative to dental bridges.
Snap-On Overdentures
These dentures “snap” onto dental implants or specially treated tooth roots, making them more secure and comfortable than traditional options. They can be removed easily but provide greater stability for chewing and speaking.
Are Dentures Right For You?
Full dentures are made with plastic teeth embedded into a gum-colored acrylic base. An upper denture covers the roof of your mouth, while a lower denture is shaped like a horseshoe to allow room for your tongue. Each denture is carefully crafted in a dental laboratory based on impressions taken by Dr. Shore to ensure a personalized fit.
Caring for Your Dentures
Dentures need regular care to keep them in good condition. Over time, they may require relining, rebasing, or replacement due to normal wear or natural changes in your mouth. To keep them lasting as long as possible:
• Handle them carefully over a towel or water to avoid breakage if dropped.
• Keep dentures moist when not in use by placing them in water or denture solution—never hot water.
• Brush them daily with a soft brush and water to remove plaque and food particles. Avoid toothpaste, which can scratch the surface.
• Clean your gums, tongue, and palate each morning before inserting dentures to stimulate circulation and reduce bacteria.

I had to fly to Florida unexpectedly to be with my mother, who was hospitalized after suffering a major heart attack. During an already stressful time, I experienced a dental emergency and was incredibly fortunate to get an appointment right away. The doctor and staff went above and beyond, even staying past closing to make sure my dental emergency was taken care of. I am so grateful for their kindness, compassion, and dedication. Thank you to an amazing doctor and a brilliant staff who truly care deeply about their patients! Your willingness to go the extra mile meant more to me than you know. ❤️Posted on Google![]()

I’m phobic about going to the dentist, but everyone in office puts me at ease from the moment I walk in. I had a dental emergency and was worked into the schedule the next day. Dr Shore is kind, patient, and gentle. She is getting me over my fears. Best dentist I’ve ever seen.Posted on Google![]()

As someone who has severe dental phobia (not sure thats a real term) I had not seen a dentist in over 2 decades after a bad experience with another dentist. Dr. Shore was recommended to me and I can say the trust place in her and her team is well founded. Dr. Shore was caring, patient and so efficient. She and her team truly care and were attentive, kind and explained everything. I had zero pain or complications. They took as much time as I needed and I can say have won me over. From the front desk (who suppirted me with even scheduling because i was so nervouss) to the dental assistant who talked me through a panic attack they are the best. If your contemplating who to go see this is your sign.Posted on Google![]()

I stand by what I said before (below). Stephanie is far and away the best dentist I have ever had. This time it was the replacement of a very old crown and a small filling. She and her staff are simply marvelous! ********* Stephanie Shore is the finest dentist that has ever worked on my teeth, and that's saying something as I am 84 years old. This time, it was a crown replacement and a rebuild of a lateral incisor, where an old (and very large) composite filling had fallen out (both the work of another dentist years ago). She handled both procedures in about 2-1/2 hours, matching the tooth color and the resultant bite comfort level perfectly. I walked in with a "fang" in front, and left looking human. She is also the finest Novocain administrator I have ever known. Rarely is there any pain, either when administering or during her work afterwards. I cannot recommend her highly enough.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
