Shore Dental Care Move Update

Dear Patients and Friends,

It’s been wonderful seeing many of you in our current office at 6660 Coyle Avenue over the past few
weeks as we approach our final days operating in that building. Hopefully, you have received and read my prior email from January 4, 2026, announcing the move of my office to a building I purchased in
Carmichael. Our new Dental Office is almost done, with a flurry of activity happening over the coming
week to get everything completed.

Our last day in the current office on Coyle will be February 13, 2026.

On Monday, February 16, 2026, we will move to 5723 Marconi Avenue. It is a stand-alone building in a
complex of 7 office buildings in Oak Leaf Plaza. The closest major intersection is Fair Oaks and Marconi,
where School of Rock, Rey Azteca, and Fiptastic are located. The complex is in the north-west corner of the intersection behind Carmichael Taekwondo. The building is single story, with good handicap access,
parking spots right in front, and no stairs. The interior is large and full of natural light, and best of all, we
have a restroom for patients inside the office! I hope you are as excited as I am to see and experience
the new space.

We will be closed the week of February 16-20, 2026 during our move.

While we should have access to our phones and patient database, not everything always goes to plan. Please be patient with us that week, as phone calls and texts may not be returned as promptly as we would like. Don’t worry, we will send the new address in all appointment reminder texts, emails, and phone calls.

I would also like to share some other fantastic news. Most of you know that Dr. Laurie Hanschu, my
partner and then associate for 15 years, retired in early 2025. I have been able to (mostly) keep up with
the needs of our patients with the help of Christina, my Registered Dental Assistant in Expanded
Function (RDAEF2), who is able to place and finish fillings and crowns with her special license. Without
her, I would never have been able to take care of our patients’ needs over these past nine months.

However, I am finding the increased workload more physically taxing as time goes on, and I know that if I
want to preserve my back, neck, hands, and ears, I will need some help!

Therefore, I am thrilled to announce that Gabriella Vance, DDS, will join our practice as the treating
Doctor on Tuesdays starting in March. Dr. Vance is a Sacramento native and a 2006 graduate of UCSF
School of Dentistry. She has been practicing dentistry for 20 years, and for the past 10 years has been working in a practice in Folsom. We have mutual friends since we live in the same neighborhood, and our kids
are just about the same ages. I feel that she’s the perfect fit for our practice, and I am grateful that she is
excited to join us. She and I share similar interests in restorative and esthetic dentistry, and have similar
styles of diagnosis. And, just like Dr. Hanschu, she is left-handed! I hope you will welcome her and trust
her with your care as much as I do.

Gabriella Vance, DDS

Please reach out with questions. You can text or call the office at 916-966-4341, as we should have remote access during our moving week.

All the best,

Stefanie Shore, DDS

January Office Update

New Year Update From Dr. Shore

Dear Patients and Friends,

Happy New Year! I hope you were able to take some time to relax with family and friends over the busy
holiday season, and are now finding yourself refreshed and ready for the year to come. I’m writing to
share some exciting news. Since 2009, I have enjoyed working at 6660 Coyle Avenue. It’s a great central location for medical care and has nice amenities nearby. I’m sure many of you have noticed that our
building has become less and less busy over the years as the medical practitioners who rented other
suites have slowly retired and closed up shop. As of a few months ago, Shore Dental Care is the last
active suite in the building. Knowing this was to come, I started looking for a building to purchase several
years ago, in the hopes of controlling my practice destiny and moving to a more suitable location. One
year ago, I put an offer in on a building near Fair Oaks and Marconi that housed a former dental office.
After a year of negotiations, permitting, remodeling, and final inspections, our new office is just about complete.

In February, we plan to move much of the existing dental equipment and supplies over to the new
office and open for business in our new location. It’s larger, with 9 operatories instead of 6, and has 4
dedicated hygiene rooms. It also has tons of natural light, great storage, and best of all (for me at least)
it’s much closer to my home. My staff is excited for the change, and all of them will be with me
throughout the transition and will be ready to see you in the new space.
I realize many of you will be thrilled as we will be closer to your homes, and many of you will be
disappointed that the office you’ve been going to for years is now even further away. The new office is
about a 10-minute drive down Fair Oaks Boulevard from the Coyle office, close to the Milagro Center
and deeper into central Carmichael. The office is beautiful and spacious, and I hope you will appreciate
all the work myself and my staff have put into making it a fresh and efficient space for your dental care.
While the exact move-in date has not been finalized, I am hopeful that everything will be done by mid-
February. In the meantime, you can see construction updates and before-and-after photos on our
Instagram, @shoredentalcare. We will send plenty of communication to you in advance of the move
with the address and final opening date.

Also, be on the lookout for a future Open House event, which I hope to host in the Spring, so that
anyone who is curious about our new space can come and see it. It will also be a great time for your
friends and family to meet myself and my staff and see what our practice is all about.

Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

Best,

Stefanie Shore, DDS

Uncover the Life-Changing Benefits of a Brighter, Healthier Smile

A beautiful smile can make a lasting first impression. Whether you’re meeting someone new, attending an important event, or simply looking in the mirror, having confidence in your smile can transform the way you feel about yourself. Cosmetic dentistry offers a range of treatments designed to enhance the appearance of your teeth while also improving your oral health and overall well-being.

In this article, we’ll explore the key benefits of cosmetic dentistry, the most popular treatments available, and how they can help you achieve the smile you’ve always wanted.

Enhanced Confidence and Self-Esteem

One of the most significant benefits of cosmetic dentistry is the boost in confidence it provides. If you’ve ever felt embarrassed to smile because of chipped, stained, or misaligned teeth, cosmetic dental treatments can make a world of difference.

A bright, symmetrical smile often leads to improved self-esteem and a more positive self-image. Many patients report feeling more outgoing and comfortable in social or professional settings after cosmetic dental treatment. When you feel good about your smile, it shows, and others notice.

Improved Oral Health

Cosmetic dentistry isn’t just about appearances, it can also improve your oral health. Correcting issues like overlapping, uneven, or misaligned teeth can make it easier to brush and floss effectively, reducing the risk of decay and gum disease.

Treatments such as dental bonding or veneers not only enhance the look of your teeth but can also strengthen and protect them from further wear. Similarly, dental crowns and implants restore structure and function, ensuring your bite remains healthy and balanced.

A Youthful, Radiant Appearance

Your smile plays a huge role in how young or old you appear. Over time, teeth naturally discolor, wear down, or shift slightly. Cosmetic dentistry treatments like teeth whitening and porcelain veneers can dramatically rejuvenate your appearance, making you look younger and more vibrant.

Whiter teeth convey health and vitality, while a well-shaped, even smile can take years off your appearance. Whether it’s correcting minor imperfections or performing a complete smile makeover, cosmetic dentistry can help you achieve a more youthful and refreshed look.

Long-Lasting Results

Another major advantage of modern cosmetic dentistry is its longevity. Many procedures offer long-lasting or even permanent improvements with proper care.

  • Teeth whitening results can last for several months to a year, depending on lifestyle habits.

  • Porcelain veneers can last 10–15 years or more with good oral hygiene.

  • Dental implants can last a lifetime when properly maintained.

With today’s advanced materials and techniques, cosmetic dentistry provides durable, natural-looking results that stand the test of time.

Customizable Treatment Plans

No two smiles are the same, which is why cosmetic dentistry is highly personalized. Dr. Shore will work with you to design a treatment plan tailored to your unique goals, budget, and dental condition.

Whether you want a subtle enhancement or a complete smile transformation, there’s a cosmetic solution for you. Common procedures include:

  • Teeth Whitening: Brightens and removes stains for a dazzling smile.

  • Dental Veneers: Thin porcelain shells that cover imperfections and reshape teeth.

  • Composite Bonding: Repairs chips, cracks, or discoloration with tooth-colored resin.

  • Invisalign or Clear Aligners: Straighten teeth discreetly without metal braces.

  • Dental Implants: Replace missing teeth with a natural, permanent solution.

By combining these treatments, your dentist can achieve a balanced, harmonious result that complements your facial features.

Better Career and Social Opportunities

It’s no secret that a confident smile can open doors. Studies show that people who smile often are perceived as more approachable, successful, and trustworthy. In professional environments, a bright smile can enhance your image and leave a positive impression on colleagues and clients.

Cosmetic dentistry can help you put your best face forward, whether you’re interviewing for a new job, attending social events, or simply engaging with others in daily life.

A Healthier, Happier You

The benefits of cosmetic dentistry go far beyond aesthetics. When you invest in your smile, you’re also investing in your overall health and happiness. Restoring damaged teeth can improve your ability to chew, speak, and maintain proper jaw alignment. A beautiful smile can also reduce anxiety about appearance, leading to improved emotional well-being.

Want a Brighter Smile? Here’s What You Should Know About Whitening Options

Ready for a Brighter Smile? Here's what you need to know

Teeth Whitening Options

A bright, white smile is one of the first things people notice—and one of the easiest ways to boost your confidence. The good news is that professional whitening treatments can restore your smile’s brilliance. At Shore Dental Care in Carmichael, CA, we offer safe, effective whitening solutions tailored to your needs. Here’s what you should know about your options.

Why Teeth Become Discolored

Tooth discoloration happens for a variety of reasons. Surface stains from dark-colored foods and drinks are common, while deeper discoloration can occur inside the tooth due to aging, medications, or trauma. Even with excellent brushing and flossing habits, most people will notice their teeth gradually losing brightness over the years. Professional whitening helps target both surface stains and deeper discoloration to give you a more youthful smile.

Professional In-Office Whitening

Kor Professional Whitening

If you want dramatic results, Kor whitening is your best choice. This treatment uses comfortable, custom trays used to whiten nightly at home for 2 weeks. An in-office whitening session may be added before or after your home whitening for maximum results. Although the most expensive whitening option, this is the most predictable and consistent way to bleach your teeth.

Take-Home Whitening Kits

For patients who prefer to whiten at their own pace, Shore Dental Care also offers take-home whitening. These include custom-fitted trays and professional-grade whitening gel, which is stronger and more effective than over-the-counter products. You’ll wear the trays for a set amount of time each day, gradually whitening your teeth over one to two weeks. This option provides flexibility and convenience while still delivering excellent results.

Over-the-Counter Whitening Products

Drugstores are full of whitening strips, toothpastes, and rinses, but these products often can’t match the effectiveness of professional treatments. Opalescence Go is an easy-to-use product that is more effective than most drugstore products. Shore Dental Care sells these pre-formed trays that are easy to use and can help lighten and brighten your smile.

Choosing the Right Option

The right whitening treatment depends on your goals, timeline, and budget. If you’re preparing for a big event like a wedding, the Kor at-home and in-office whitening will give you a quick and predictable boost. If you prefer a gradual, more affordable option, take-home kits may be a great fit. During your consultation, Dr. Shore will evaluate your teeth and recommend the best solution for your smile.

Keep Your Smile Bright After Whitening

No matter which option you choose, maintaining your results is important. Here are a few simple tips:

  • Brush and floss daily to keep stains from building up.
  • Limit dark foods and drinks like coffee, tea, and red wine.
  • Rinse with water after meals to reduce discoloration.
  • Visit Shore Dental Care for regular cleanings to keep your teeth healthy and bright.

Cosmetic Bonding vs. Veneers: Which Is Right for Your Smile?

Cosmetic Bonding vs. Veneers

A side-by-side look at two popular treatments to transform your teeth

Cosmetic Bonding vs. Veneers

If you’re looking to improve your smile, you may have already discovered there are many cosmetic dentistry options available. Two of the most popular treatments are cosmetic bonding and veneers. Both can transform the look of your teeth, but they work in different ways and are better suited to different needs. At Shore Dental Care in Carmichael, CA, we help patients understand their options so they can choose the treatment that gives them the smile they’ve always wanted.

What Is Cosmetic Bonding?

Cosmetic bonding is a quick and affordable way to fix minor imperfections in your teeth. During the procedure, a tooth-colored resin is applied directly to the tooth and carefully shaped to correct issues such as chips, small gaps, discoloration, or uneven edges. Once sculpted, the material is hardened with a special light and polished to blend seamlessly with your natural smile.

Bonding usually takes just one visit and does not require removing much of your natural enamel, making it a conservative treatment option. While bonding is effective, the material is not as strong as porcelain, so it may need to be touched up or replaced every three to five years.

What Are Veneers?

Veneers are thin, custom-made shells, typically porcelain, that cover the front surfaces of your teeth. They are ideal for correcting a wide range of cosmetic concerns, including discoloration that doesn’t respond to whitening, larger gaps, misshapen teeth, or multiple chips and cracks. Veneers offer dramatic, long-lasting results and are known for their natural look and durability.

The process usually takes two appointments. At first, your dentist gently removes a small amount of enamel to make room for the veneer and takes impressions of your teeth. At the second visit, your permanent veneers are bonded in place, instantly giving you a stunning, uniform smile.

Key Differences Between Bonding and Veneers

While both treatments enhance your smile, here are some important differences to consider:

  • Durability: Veneers typically last 10–15 years or more, while bonding lasts around 3–5 years.

  • Appearance: Veneers are made of porcelain, which is highly stain-resistant and reflective like natural enamel. Bonding looks good but may stain more easily over time.

  • Cost: Bonding is generally less expensive than veneers, making it a budget-friendly choice for minor fixes. Veneers require a greater investment but deliver longer-lasting, more transformative results.

  • Treatment Time: Bonding can usually be completed in a single appointment. Veneers require two or more appointments but provide a more permanent solution.

Which Option Is Right for You?

The best choice depends on your goals, budget, and the condition of your teeth. If you’re looking for a quick, cost-effective fix for small cosmetic issues, bonding may be perfect. If you want a more dramatic, long-term transformation that addresses multiple imperfections at once, veneers could be the better solution.

At Shore Dental Care in Carmichael, CA, we take the time to evaluate your smile, discuss your goals, and recommend the option that fits your needs best. Our goal is always to create a smile that looks natural, feels comfortable, and boosts your confidence.

From Nervous to Comfortable: How We Make Every Visit Stress-Free

Creating Comfort and Confidence With Every Visit

sedation dentist carmichael

For many people, a trip to the dentist can bring on feelings of anxiety or nervousness. At Shore Dental Care in Carmichael, CA, we understand that dental visits are not always easy for everyone. That’s why our mission is to create an atmosphere where patients feel relaxed, cared for, and confident in the treatment they’re receiving. Whether it’s your first appointment with us or a routine check-up, our team goes above and beyond to ensure your experience is positive, comfortable, and stress-free.

Understanding Dental Anxiety

Dental anxiety is more common than you might think. Millions of people experience fear at the thought of sitting in a dentist’s chair, often because of past negative experiences, fear of discomfort, or even uncertainty about the procedure. At Shore Dental Care, we believe that acknowledging these feelings is the first step to overcoming them. We listen to your concerns, explain every step of your treatment, and provide reassurance so that you always know you’re in good hands.

A Welcoming Environment

From the moment you walk through the doors of our Carmichael office, you’ll notice the difference. Our friendly staff greets you with a smile, and our office is designed to feel warm and inviting rather than clinical or intimidating. We want every patient to feel like part of our dental family. By combining modern amenities with compassionate care, we create an environment where you can relax before, during, and after your appointment.

Comfort Through Communication

One of the most effective ways to ease nervousness at the dentist is clear communication. At Shore Dental Care, we take the time to walk you through your procedure step-by-step. Whether you’re here for a dental cleaning, a filling, or something more advanced like dental implants or veneers, our team makes sure you understand what to expect. We encourage patients to ask questions at any point—because informed patients are more comfortable and confident patients.

Gentle and Modern Techniques

Technology has transformed dentistry, and at Shore Dental Care we use the latest techniques and equipment to ensure procedures are as gentle and effective as possible. Treatments like scaling and root planing for gum disease, placing dental implants, or performing cosmetic enhancements are all done with your comfort in mind. Our approach minimizes discomfort and helps reduce recovery time, allowing you to return to your daily life quickly and confidently.

Options for Added Relaxation

For patients with higher levels of anxiety, we also offer solutions that make visits even easier. Depending on your needs, we can recommend techniques such as oral conscious sedation, numbing gels, local anesthetics, or relaxation methods that help calm nerves. These options make even the most complex treatments easier to handle. By customizing our approach to each patient, we ensure that everyone has a stress-free dental experience tailored to their comfort level.

Why Comfort Matters

When patients feel comfortable, they’re more likely to keep up with regular dental visits—and regular visits are essential for maintaining a healthy smile. Avoiding the dentist due to fear can allow problems like cavities, gum disease, or tooth loss to develop. By making every visit stress-free, Shore Dental Care helps patients protect not only their oral health but also their overall health and confidence.

At Shore Dental Care, we believe that every patient deserves high-quality dentistry delivered in a compassionate and comfortable way. Whether you’re due for a check-up, interested in cosmetic dentistry, or need restorative treatment, our team is here to ensure your experience is positive from start to finish.
